We are a community-led, volunteer-driven organization governed by an 11-member board, committed to preserving a historic building while fostering a welcoming space for connection, support, and shared experiences. Our board meets monthly to explore initiatives that fund, maintain, and promote this cherished landmark.
Our Mission
Our mission is to honour the historical significance of this space by repurposing the church into a vibrant community hub. We strive to preserve its architectural heritage while transforming it into a place of inclusivity, creativity, and service. By fostering cultural, educational, and social initiatives, we aim to create a welcoming environment where people from all walks of life can connect, grow, and contribute to the betterment of our community.
Our Purpose
The church building is a beloved landmark in our town, holding generations of memories from baptisms and weddings to school gatherings and community milestones. It was purchased through contributions from community members and former residents committed to its preservation. We are bringing the “People’s House” back to life as an open, welcoming space for the community to gather, create, and connect.
Our major restoration, planned for 2026, will include a new roof, exterior repairs, and fresh paint to preserve the structure, while interior improvements will continue to enhance its functionality. Our goal is to restore and revitalize this historic building so it can serve the community for generations to come.
We plan to expand the building’s use by partnering with community groups, including local arts organizations and any group wishing to utilize the space. Opened in 1889, the church is now 137 years old. Our vision is to secure it well into the next century.

This endeavour is not for us alone it is for future generations. When the church was built with its iconic 90-foot tower, the original builders created a lasting legacy. Now it is our turn to honour that vision and ensure this remarkable landmark continues to stand strong.
We are a registered charity, and all donations are income tax-deductible. We envision a fully restored, accessible, and welcoming space that supports newcomers, celebrates the arts, fosters community connection, and stands strong well into the next century.
